These are some of the common questions we have from past clientele.

  • What makes this different from a traditional private chef or caterer?

    This is not catering, meal prep, buffet service, family-style dining, or tray-drop delivery.


    Chef Chris offers a bespoke, multi-course tasting menu crafted with Michelin-level technique, premium ingredients, and refined artistry — all prepared fresh on-site. This is a private fine-dining at the highest level, not a mass-market service.

  • How far in advance should I book?

    Due to the extensive planning and preparation required, events generally book 4–12+ weeks in advance, depending on the season.


    A limited number of experiences are accepted each week to maintain the highest standards of execution.

  • What is the typical investment for a tasting menu experience?

    This is a luxury, chef-driven culinary experience, reflecting the pricing standards of fine dining.  A minimum investment applies to all events.

     

    If you are comparing prices to catering or restaurant dining, this experience will not be the right fit.

  • How many guests can you accommodate?

    The ideal range for optimal service is 6–12 guests for a tasting menu.


    Larger groups may be possible depending on the structure of the event, but tasting menus are designed for intimate, high-touch dining. Chef Chris can accommodate larger cocktail style parties for up to 100 or more guests.

  • Do you offer meal prep, weekly cooking, family-style dinners, or tray-service?

    No. 


    These services do not reflect the standards or culinary philosophy of this brand.


    Chef Chris exclusively offers bespoke tasting menus, elevated cocktail-style small bites, and luxury private dining experiences

  • Can you customize a menu for dietary preferences?

    Yes — menus are crafted specifically for your event, and reasonable dietary accommodations can be incorporated with advance notice.


    All substitutions are handled with the same precision and artistry as the original menu.

  • Is everything prepared fresh in my home?

    Yes. Every component is cooked, finished, and plated on-site. There are some things that can be prepared beforehand, but all menus are cooked-to-order on site, and prepared fresh. There is no reheating, pre-made trays, or yesterday’s leftovers.


    This ensures the integrity, temperature, and quality of each course.

  • Do you provide staff?

    Depending on the complexity of the event, a professional server, sous chef, or kitchen assistant may be included or recommended to maintain timing, flow, and service standards.

  • Do you clean the kitchen afterward?

    Yes.


    Your kitchen will be fully restored to its original state — cleaned, organized, and spotless — allowing you to simply enjoy the evening.

  • Do you travel?

    Service areas include:

    • Long Island
    • NYC
    • The Hamptons

    Additional travel may be considered on a limited basis for select clients and premium events. Locations beyond 50 miles will require additional travel time & expenses (calculated at $2.50 per mile, round trip per staff member).

  • Who is this experience designed for?

    This service is crafted for guests who value: fine dining, premium ingredients, creativity & artistry, chef-driven culinary expression, elevated hospitality, exclusivity & discretion.


    If someone is seeking a budget-friendly option, mass-market catering, off-the-shelf catering or convenience-based service, this experience will not be the right fit.

  • What is required to secure a date?

    A 20% retainer is required to hold a date. Dates cannot be held without a deposit due to limited weekly availability., and dates are offered on a first-come-first-served basis.
